Metropolitan Music Ministries of Charlotte, NC, offers three $1500 scholarships to college students in North and South Carolina to encourage the pursuit of careers in sacred music. The scholarships offered are:
The Richard VanSciver Church Music Scholarship,

awarded to an outstanding organ student who plans to pursue a career in church music.
The Dr. Martha Strawn Iley Church Music Scholarship,

awarded to an outstanding voice student who plans to pursue a career in church music.
The Cheryl Iley Lindstrom Church Music Scholarship,

awarded to an outstanding piano student who plans to pursue a career in church music.
 

The deadline for receipt of 2010 applications is Saturday, February 28, 2010.

The Fourth Annual Young Artist Competition for Pre-College Organists is open to any pre-college student in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida. In addition to generous monetary prizes, the first place winner will also receive an invitation to return to perform at East Carolina University in the 2010-2011 season. The competition will be held at East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina, on April 16-17, 2010.
